Never underestimate the level of weirdness that can happen when a stick of RAM goes bad. ;) The person who has physical access pulled out 2 1GB sticks and put in a known good 512 MB stick and so far so good. If lfs builds to completion, then I will retry the build with each of the 2 sticks separately, but it looks like this mystery is solved. -- Archaic Want control, education, and security from your operating system?
