I've built LFS dozens of times since I heard of it at v3-ish so I guess I qualify as a veteran LFSer. I started writing scripts to do everything for me a few months ago but didn't finish. I will probably get back to them eventually, but I really don't mind the cut/paste build method; it gives me the opportunity to scan through the book and note any changes or reasoning for new additions in the SVN books as I build a new system.

Long story short: I may be an idiot, but there's at least one veteran LFSer who doesn't script the build. :)
