I did copy those files in (first just e2fs & reiser, later at your advice all) but this was only after realizing I had the problem. I went back to see if I'd messed up the grub install and noticed I'd overlooked that step. I run grub but still get the same messages. Do I need to backtrack for grub to pick up those files and recognize new types?
I'm not sure if it needs the stage1_5 files to be there when grub is installed in the MBR or boot sector. It can't hurt, though. I'm kind of fuzzy on some of the details of grub. I would try to redo the "setup" command from the grub shell. Did you install grub to the MBR of the disk or the boot sector of your LFS partition? I think you probably need it in the MBR unless you can tell the Windows boot loader to chainload grub. FWIW, here's the manual for grub. Maybe you can find some more info. http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/html_node/ -- Dan -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
