So you're advocating wasting a metric buttload of the listowner's bandwidth 
solely because your email client is easily configurable to not show you the 
cruft?

For almost 2 years, I couldn't taste shrimp (nerve damage in my tongue). 
That makes it OK to put shrimp in everybody else's coffee?

If you're advocating not top-posting due to [n]etiquette, how can you not 
advocate trimming replies, when it's IMHO just as important for good 
[n]etiquette?
