Thanks everyone for the help. I do have /dev/sda5: /dev/sda5: UUID="a6ce6f3f-7bb5-4069-a32c-a8388472f15d" TYPE="ext3" but I'm going to take it one more time carefully from the top. I have my build commands in a long script file and issue them one at a time and watch results.
