Although automake and especially aclocal is not mentioned in the required base software, without it is not working either. By the way, the required base software looks highly outdated, not?
I just killed automake 1.12 on my system and replaced it with 1.13.1. I just start all over again and see where it will fail again. I'll come back when it is solved or when I run into the wall once again.
