Ah classic LFS. I’m sorry. Still make sure LVM2 is installed.
Sincerely,

Hello,
And thank you all for helping me. Found the problem. I did install LVM2
at some point (some 2 days ago) and also recompiled the kernel but for
some reason I didn't realize I should make a new initramfs afterwards.
When David Brodie said "I think you also need LVM in initramfs" it occurred
to me that I also need a new initrd file. Now, the system boots
successfully!
It can't find eth0 though. Maybe it's named differently.
Thank you all for your help! It's a nice feeling to have the first LFS of my
own. Even if it can't find eth0. :D
I want to apologize for stating in error that I am using systemd. I have
followed
LFS 7.6 as close as I possibly could with the notable exception of the
partition
type which was a bit late to change when I noticed the problem and I thought
it wouldn't be such a problem and that I'd learn more - which came true.
Although the problem is mostly solved, out of respect for your time I'll
give
the answers to the questions that you've asked me:
1. Grub: I am using the LFS compiled grub
2. I have followed LFS closely so I guess I am using sysvinit. Not systemd.
3. LFS book version: 7.6
4. I don't think I have UEFI hardware. But I am certainly on MBR not on GPT.
5. LVM2 (installed 2 days ago)
As for eth0, I believe I should start a new thread.
Again, thank you all!
Kind regards!
