FB,BG! I just built 1.12.4. I've actually always been a computer user. I build things to use them, all the way back to my IMSAI. I haven't played around diddling X builds, though I understand the purpose of the modular system is so maybe one COULD drop in a new version of the server as you suggest. That works? I think maybe I said, I'm prepping for the GTK path now. I intend to go through to the end, use it a while to make sure it all works, then maybe do stuff like that in the next "release candidate". What do you think of the IcedTea/OpenJDK? Wouldn't hurt my feelings to drop Oracle's. > Is firefox 24esr still supported ? I suppose things are different for people Seems like sqlite is one of those things. I figured it'd be less work, so I pulled 3.7.14 and put in the latest 3.8.8.2. Remains to be seen if that actually does work. > > Some people update everything in their current system, for a true > rolling release. More interested in using the system than staying on the bleeding edge. > > Oh, and if your system predates libjpeg-turbo, have fun! But I still > think that starting from a version of BLFS which is more than 2 years > old is a waste of your time for desktop systems. This old system is 6.6 based. It didn't meet the prereqs for 7.6. Too wide a jump. -- Paul Rogers [email protected] Rogers' Second Law: "Everything you do communicates." (I do not personally endorse any additions after this line.
