Ok. Looks like we all got confused here (or at least I did). mrproper
target is located in the linux-3.19.3 directory which was my original
assumption and finding. What confused me is the following statement
Make sure there are no stale files and dependencies lying around from
previous activity:
This made me assume that there should be a mrproper target in the previous
makefile (the one from gcc-4.9.2) rather than in the one extracted from
linux-3.19.3.tar.xz. Clearly I was wrong.
It is a little confusing. I'll clarify the wording.
