Never went on to blfs as a lot of things were still unclear about the lfs. However it is true that I am at the very starting of the learning curve. the dir /tools/bin exists however src/su does not exist as su is not installed in the coreutils-8.23. However searching around a found a way to install shadow first and then it became easy.
