Attached, you find a patch with the necessary fix, if you don't want to
modify in a non-standard way your system.

It is for 5.0.0, but will probably be OK with your version.

Never mind, your non-LSB compliant symlink is the best solution.

I have been educated in two things, with this last thread:

1. To be Linux Standards Base (LSB) compliant is not a serious
objective, here. In LFS, it is a rhetorical argument for remaking all
bootscripts, telling people they are wrong and increasing LFS version
from 6 to 7.

2. I will be wrong each time I post (B)LFS lists. Correct: keep up my
determination of not posting.

Apologies for having posted. I had recently had the same problem. Will
try not to let it happen again.

Don't be too bothered by it. Just wait a little while and there will be a new
standard. :-)

Sometimes it's better to let people do it the way they want to than to spend too much effort trying to educate. I owned an aquarium store for 4 years, and at first I would put a lot of effort in talking people out of making bad choices in buying fish that would not work out together, only to have them go to another store and buy the same fish. I quickly found that it was better to tell them once, then when they asked for the same fish, I'd ask "how many would you like".

Sometimes with software is easier to just give the misbehaving software a quick fix rather than a best fix, just to get it working when you have a million other things to get done.
