I did. I destroyed and recreate the whole machine with vagrant (every VHD

everything. Every attempt I make is a clean one.
Have you done a manual LFS build? We do not recommend tools until you are
successful with at least one manual build.
I don't know anything about puppet, but we do know that the manual method
works.
