And quoting the section numbers is not particularly helpful. Section 5.3 is the general compilation instructions, nothing about a particular step in the build. Your replies tend to be tangential to what you are being asked. > > > Others have asked you to verify that your environment is properly set, > > as per the book, but there is no feedback or confirmation about that. > > > > there are only two environment variables. You have told us the error message, and also your original command, and the corrected version. But you have not shown us the command where make reported the error. Presumably it was invoking a compiler, but we do not know how (there is more than one way), nor the file it was trying to create. > > > My guess is that you don't have a problem in "5.8 Libstdc++" but in > > "5.5. Your build host appears to be similar to what several people have used successfully, but your error is obscure and certainly looks like the LFS g++ compiler is not present. > > But talking about basic questions, we should go back first to "1.5 Help". > > > > The only open question here is: I use 7.8 > > Greetings > Björn ĸen -- This email was written using 100% recycled letters. -- http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/listinfo/lfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page Do not top post on this list.
