I have a few updates to share with you all in regards to this issue:

1. Not only does the terminal fail to recognize the uppercase 'M' when
typing SHIFT+M or CAP+M, it also fails to recognize it in copied text when
attempting to paste from another source like the book.

For example, the text "Makefile" when copied and pasted into the terminal,
it will read as "akefile." It is as if the 'M' was never there and does not
exist according to the terminal.

2. HOWEVER, when using a text editor such as Vim or nano, using an
uppercase 'M' DOES work and will appear in the editor.

So I am led to believe the issue lies somewhere in my terminal/shell
environment. My next step will be to try and reinstall Bash and see if that
maybe fixes it.

If all else fails, I will simply try reinstalling packages until either is
resolved or I give up and start over again (again).
