Before people jump all over this, I've already looked into this on
Xuggle and we're just passing in YUV data (gotten from a
av_decode_video call) to av_encode_video(...), so my guess it's some
setting in the MP4 encoder. I think Stas' question is better phrased
as:
"Are there settings in the mpeg4 encoder that can affect color saturation".
I would actually suspect a decoder issue. Stas didn't say in what player
he made the screenshots? I have encountered something like this in the
past with MPEG-2 or DV sources as I recall. The issue was something in
Quicktime decoding/displaying the video differently to FFmpeg or
libmpeg2 or so. I don't remember precisely what it was, maybe Baptiste
knows of some issue in Quicktime.
