The review by Steve Grubb at http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.libcg.devel/2485 raised a few issues with the code in tools/*.c, find the fixes in subsequent patches. Note that for the latest (cgexec) patch you need my 'Remove suid from /bin/cgexec' patches applied (http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.libcg.devel/2493).
