I'm not convinced that Islamophobia is the primary problem. Rather, I see the root problem is the same as that which brought about slavery, National Socialism, Communism, and Democrats. This evils is the Collectivist Mindset. This evil changes the focus of attention from the individual to this amophus fiction, the homogeneous group.
Most of the Islam Bashing articles are great examples of this, and when you get into discussions with the people who keep posting these articles, you'll find that most of them suffer from this evil to a greater extent than the author's whose articles they're posting. And if there is one identifying characteristic of libertarian thought, it is the focus on the individual, not the collective.
