You did not answer anything about art. Taubman strikes me as a liar. I assume that he was/is a CIA agent. The fact that he has a Jewish name explains a lot how he knows so many details. And they controlled the country with the irons fists. When the Russian Revolution begun, it was all about hope for a new free world of equality. Do not be mistaken, communism just like your ideal capitalism can be easily corrupted into a little recognizable forms of the original. Once Trotsky and Lenin came, it was all over. One should not call stalinism and leninism, a communism, but simply an oppresive regime by a government junta. Nevertheless, art had flourished even then.
