Since I believe that the government has no business running schools, I believe parents should be able to send their to children to any school they want, or teach them themselves, where they can get any brand of religion they desire, or none.
I think taking time out of the school day for prayer is a waste of time, however it should be up to the management of the school. Let me explain. The Muslim is called to prayer five times a day. The ritual is lengthy and involves kneeling and bowing and interacting with sacred props and a loudspeaker. The only violation of the 1st Amendment would be if someone was forced to pray. Any voluntary prayer is totally within the free exercise of religion.
