Hi. My name is Rich Goldman. I'm new here but not new to Objectivism.
(Yes, as my
handle suggests, I identify myself more as a libertarian but I am at the
very least an
admirer of Ayn Rand and typically end up arguing Objectivist positions.)

Anyways, I thought people on this list might like to know about an event I
am helping to
organize. It is a keynote dinner featuring Mr. Scott Bullock, Senior
Attorney at the Institute
for Justice (http://www.ij.org) and co-counsel for Kelo in the Kelo v. City
of New London
eminent-domain Supreme Court case. He'll be giving a talk entitled
"Fighting for Liberty in
the Courts" in which he'll be discussing the mechanics of the legal system
and sharing
stories and lessons learned from his court room battles. An extended
question and
answer session will follow.

The date for the event is February 18th, 2006 and doors open at 6pm. This
event will be
held on the campus of the University of Maryland Baltimore County (http://
www.umbc.edu/map/) in University Center Room 312.

I'm announcing it now because tickets are needed in advance to attend.
Tickets are $20
per person if you RSVP before February 6th and $30 per person afterwards.
To RSVP,
please contact me, Rich Goldman, at [EMAIL PROTECTED] or 215-480-0879 and
include the
number of tickets you would like to reserve and the dinner choice for each
person in your
party. The choices are Chicken Marsala or Tri-Colored (vegetarian)
Tortellini. Payment for
tickets can be made at the event or mailed to: 2819 Manoff Road, Halethorpe,
MD 21227.
Cash, checks, and Liberty Dollars are accepted.

A flyer for this even can be viewed at
http://powersquirrel.homeip.net/FSPDinnerFlyer.pdf
. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns and I'll answer
them as soon
as possible.

Sorry that my first post is a (kind of long) solicitation. I'll have more
meaningful posts in
the future :-)
-Rich
