Steven, YOU ARE
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Wrong.

For Steven's comment that it's all about our interventions in the
past in the Middle East has just ROYALLY PISSED ME OFF.

Steven, you and I have met in our past life. We've spoken on the
phone. I find you to be a well-meaning and sincere libertarian.

WHY IS IT THAT YOU AND OTHERS LIKE YOU PERSIST IN THIS IDIOTIC CLAIM
THAT THE REASON THE MUSLIMS HATE US IS BECAUSE OF OUR FOREIGN
INTERVENTIONS IN THEIR COUNTRY???

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.

It has little if ANYTHING to do with that. I've lived in the Middle
East (9 months in Bahrain). I speak Arabic. I live in Houston,
which has a large Arabic population, and I work RIGHT SMACK DAB IN
THE MIDDLE OF HOUSTON'S LITTLE SOUTH ASIA (Pakistanis, Jordanians,
Moroccons, Egyptians, et.al).

They hate us for our Culture, plain and simple. It's all about
Sex. We get it and they don't.

Young Arab men, particularly non-wealthy Arab men, have little if
any access to women. They are extremely envious of American men who
get sex whenever they want. They watch our movies, they watch MTV,
they watch Britney Spears, and their hormones rage. And rage they
do against Americans who have easy access to sex AND Israelis with
their topless beaches, hot sweaty nightclubs, and Co-ed drinkfests
til the wee hours of the morning.

Steven DID YOU NOT READ ABOUT THE MURDER OF THEO VAN GOGH IN THE
NETHERLANDS A COUPLE YEARS AGO? Did that have ANYTHING at all to do
with "American troops stationed in Saudi Arabia?" Hell no! That
Murlim murdered Van Gogh because of a film he made supporting rights
of women in the Middle East. Did you not witness what happened in
France back in October with the massive riots by Muslim Youth? Did
that have anything to do with "Americans invading Iraq?" Hell no,
it had everything to do with Muslim youths being shunned by young
French women, and lack of job opportunities for them so that they
could gain more wealth where they could possibly attract young
French women. Do you see what's going on all throughout Europe with
Muslims clammering for bans on topless beaches, ends to legalized
prostitution, and tough drug laws that would send all drug dealers
and users to jail for long sentences?

Steve, give up this absurd notion that the reason the Muslims hate
us is because of our interventionist foreign policy. IT'S ALL ABOUT
SEX AND CULTURE.

Imo, any sane libertarian would see that and oppose these authoritarian
elements among Muslims with all their 11th Century horrobly repressive views
with all their strength.

[ModeraterNote: I edited (re-phrased) the above sentence to comply
with, not only this forum's policy, but Yahoo's prohibitions too.
As originally submitted, it was a call for some sort of American
'Jihad' against ALL Muslims. -TLP ]

if we didn't have our drug laws, there would be no tremendous
profits to be made by the most violent in our society and my friend
might well be alive today. Even if she were hooked on heroin, at
least it would be cheap and clean and not the dangerous stuff that's
cut with all sorts of chemicals and kills people over time.

are attacking us? Is it because they "hate freedom"? No, it's
because of western intervention in the Middle East over the last 100
years. I will grant that I find Islam somewhat worrisome in it's
treatment of non-Muslims and that we should be on guard against
religious extremism and any demands that Islamists or others put on
our legal system.
