Actually, all of these arguments that go, "if you didn't do X, then you can't speak about X," or "if you are not a member of Y, you can not speak about Y," are specious. What matters are the facts and opinions which make up the argument. The only time personal experience comes into play is, "George Bush told his C.O. to f&^$ off. I know because I was there." Otherwise, serving in the military, having children, being poor or of a certain ethinicity, all give one experience to bring to an argument, but, by no means, are requirements to speak on that subject.
