Your second point, too much government. I could not agree more.
They have the federal gov't making huge decisions for them. They have the FBI investigating any crimes there that violate federal law. They have the BIA doing their thing. They are constantly harassed by BLM, Fish and Game and Forestry. They have the State trying to manipulate them. They have county government and Blanding police always trespassing on their land. They have the Tribal Council of Ute Mountain making decisions for them. Another little ditty....the 'projects manager' of Ute Mountain came by in my last year bragging on how much the Tribal government did for the people on White Mesa. I asked him to be specific. He pointed out a new pipeline laid for water. As if water was a luxury in the USA. BTW, that is all he had to say.
