I have been an LP candidate 5 times, twice for statewide office. I have
collected ballot access signatures in my state, off and on, for 26 years. I
have served on my state central committee in 4 different capacities over the
space of about 6 years. I have chaired two libertarian oriented statewide
ballot initiative drives--one regarding jury nullification, the other regarding
asset forfeitures. Over the last 6 years I have represented (in my capacity as
an attorney at law) the LP of Washington in an ongoing battle over the state
primary system, which went to the SCOTUS once and is now working its way back
up the system for a second round (we're on the winning side, for once).
Currently, I am serving as treasurer to the Guthrie for US Senate campaign
here in Washington State (all donations to the Guthrie campaign gladly
accepted). My next mission is to introduce the LP to meaningful public opinion
research, and vice-versa.
