Yup. Absolutely INSANE that we're giving Israel as much foreign aid as we are. Come to think of it, WHY IN THE HELL ARE WE GIVING THEM ANY FOREIGN AID AT ALL???
That said, notice I said "relatively"? Yeah, so Israel is a Welfare State? But compared to what??? Any less of a Welfare State than France, Denmark or Germany? Come to think of it any less of a Welfare State than the United States of America? Face it Tom, we live in an imperfect world. There are 190 full Nations on the planet give or take a Monoco or Lichtenstein or Togo or two. Freedom House rates Israel, an A on Political Freedom and a B on Civil Freedom, or something like that. Iran, Syria, and the like get Big Fat 'F's. It's all relative. Nobody lives in the Thomas Knapp Liber-topia, with the exception of a tiny cadre of Libertarian escapists in Costa Rica and Phillipsburg, Montana. No, Israel ain't Phillipsburg.
