The presidential line item veto is a bad idea because it gives to 
much extra power to the president. The preident has the power to veto 
the whole bill and if Congress wants the whole bill bad enough they 
can over ride the veto with sufficent votes. The closest thing we had 
to a Classic Liberal preisent since the War of Northern Agression was 
Grover Clevland who had the guts of his convictions to veto more 
times than any other president, not far from 700 vetos over his two 
seperate terms. So far Bush jr. I think has only  use the veto 1
