MJ, It is CLEAR from your comments that you LACK UNDERSTANDING of the FairTax. Go get the book, and read it. The FairTax is THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEM that we have yet to BRING to the table because more citizens are needed to bring pressure on their Federal legislators to co-sponsors the House / Senate bill/s.

Only retailers file a STATE Sales Tax form, as many of them do in most states right NOW. So, given scale of economies, the FairTax will operate MORE EFFICIENTLY. What's more, some 6 BILLION HUMAN HOURS just in compliance (estimated to be worth between $350 B to $500 B - depending on extent of "compliance" definition, i.e., such as consultants involved in business planning / tax avoidance planning; it's ALL GONE under FairTax).
