Hello All,
>From probably more people than I can count I have heard the following,"Yeah, >McCain is bad but Obama is even worse..." If you ask me McCain is worse on the key issue IMO, War. The deadliest of all Government programs. However, I am not convinced that Obama is Anti-War but rather that McCain is more Pro-War than Obama. The recent revelations that Obama wants to create some internal security force with powers that rivals the Military I found disturbing: "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded." McCain is apparently no different and even more blunt about using Military force in our streets: "MCCAIN: And some of those tactics - you mention the war in Iraq - are like that we use in the military. You go into neighborhoods, you clamp down, you provide a secure environment for the people that live there, and you make sure that the known criminals are kept under control. And you provide them with a stable environment and then they cooperate with law enforcement, etc, etc." Can people seriously look me in the eye in light of this comment and tell me this NUT JOB will be better than Obama??? If anything it's a dead heat in nuttiness with Obama slightly edging out McCain on the War. To remind people about their two positions on the War: Not only has McCain made no bones about staying in both Afghanistan and Iraq "till the job is done." (whatever that means) He also is more than willing to "Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran!" and that is an exact quote. Based on Obama's constant posturing in the media I don't think he is as willing to blindly stay the course (right off of a cliff) as the Happy Warrior McKiller is. His suggestion of moving troops from Iraq into Afghanistan (while certainly not Anti-War by any stretch of the imagination) strikes me as less War Happy than McMurder.
