Warren Redlich has just attacked me on the Google newsgroups regarding my campaign promise to abolish rent control.

It is not true that I live in Section 8 Housing. I must tell you that my son is seriously mentally ill and nothing he says can be believed. However, even if it were true I do not see how it would affect my credibility on this issue. Everybody in New York City is affected by the rent control situation. Either they benefit from Rent Control, such as those who pay $150 per month to live in luxury thee-bedroom apartments on the Upper East Side, or they are hurt by rent control, such as landlords and building owners who cannot charge a fair rent for their properties.
