I've recently been doing some work on bug #26373 (i.e. that libre.fm
needs a groups feature) and am getting close to completion.

After I'm finished with that, I plan to move on to bug #26371. This is
to add a "friends" feature to libre.fm. This message is to ask what
people want in a friends feature.

So what would you like? Here are some ideas to get you started off:

- Symmetric or asymmetric? Should both users need to confirm a
relationship before it is displayed? Or should this just be one-way
(like identi.ca - I can subscribe to Bob without Bob having to subscribe
to me)? The latter doesn't rule out the former - if we allow asymmetric
relationships, libre.fm could notice when the relationship goes both
ways and do something special.

- Should the relationship be taggable with e.g. XFN. Should I be able to
describe the nature of my relationship with Bob (e.g. he's my "friend" /
"kin" / "contact" / etc)?

- Do we expose backlinks. Identi.ca does - it doesn't just show the list
of people I subscribe to, but also shows the list of people who
subscribe to me.

- E-mail notifications: should I be told when someone adds me as a
friend. (If we require relationships to be symmetric I'll need to be
told!) Should notifications be configurable?

- Anything I'm forgetting?
