Dear Luiz and Robert,

Based on your emails on this list during the last couple of months, I've
ordered a TP-Link WDR4300. I know it is not officially supported by
LibreCMC, but I would prefer LibreCMC over OpenWRT, if only for
contributors sharing similar ideals.

I mainly selected it as ordering totally freedom respecting routers from
ThinkPenguin is an expensive hobby from out of the Netherlands, and
sourcing similar hardware is hard (second-hand). The WDR4300 is full of
features, and is available via multiple distributors. The latter is
important because I have requests lined up for 6 more routers for
freedom-loving friends.

Am I correct to select LibreCMC for this router? Can I reasonably expect
this router to be supported in the future within the project, or does it
have some red flags going for it?

And secondly, would I have to build a custom version of LibreCMC to run
on the WDR4300, or could I just use say the image of the WR1043ND?

And lastly, do recommended models like the WR1043ND have some positive
points going for it with respect to the WDR4300? I have seen one a
couple of weeks ago in the second-hand circuit, but it seems to be quite
rare, thus resulting in a long duration to source 6 more routers.

Sorry for having wasted valuable time, but I hope I can learn from it,
and others on this list as well.

Kind regards,
Nico Rikken (NL)
