Perhaps it would make sense to introduce additional constraints or properties into non-app-defined aspects of ODFs, so that app-defined fields would not be necessary to fully specify the rendering of a document; and I would happily support such issue reports with OASIS. But the user many not want to save any app-defined, app-specific information - just the universally recognized information.
