Description:
I'd been using an older version of LibreOffice for the last 10 months and
upgraded to version 25.8.3 today (12/7/25). After the upgrade, I opened some
of documents and noticed an unexpected change; a solid bold right-arrow symbol
I had specified in AutoCorrect of my older version of LibreOffice Writer had
been automatically changed in the documents to a square box.
I went to "Tools | AutoCorrect | AutoCorrect Options", clicked on the "Replace"
tab, and looked at the autocorrect entries in the table. The first entry -
which is the entry I had made in the old version to change --> to a solid bold
right-arrow - now had a square box in the "With" column instead of a solid bold
right-arrow. I removed the entry and tried to re-enter it with a solid bold
right-arrow, but it kept putting a square box in the "With" column instead of a
solid bold right-arrow. So I uninstalled version 25.8.3 and installed an older
version I found on the LibreOffice website (version 25.2.7). To my surprise
and relief, this older version fixed the problem; the solid bold right-arrow
was back in the documents like it should be.
If you can figure out what difference between versions 25.2.7 and 25.8.3 that
changed/invalidated the solid bold right-arrow entry I had entered in
AutoCorrect, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

I'll attach a screen print of what the AutoCorrect entry looked like before it
got changed by version 25.8.3. In other words, the screen print shows the
AutoCorrect entry I made in an older version of Writer and it was working fine
until my installation of version 25.8.3 changed the solid bold right-arrow to a
square box for some reason.
