You can copy the content of one cell to the others, and then merge them. You could even do it after the cells are already merged, but it is slightly more cumbersome so I would suggest to separate the merged cells, copy the content of the first to the rest, and merge them again. While you merge them, Calc will ask you whether to keep the values of each cell, and there are 2 additional possibilities you could select. Please keep in mind that this also allows for each cell to have different values, even when they are shown as merged. Calc must keep its standard reference methods, even for merged cells.
