--- Comment #4 from [email protected] --- I cannot at this time reproduce moving from 6.x to 7.3.7.2, but I can check against older files and with new files. Thank you for mentioning the Start Centre; I had originally submitted the issue while looking at my file browser and seeing image previews for all affected files, not the Start Centre. I'll respond to both locations in my test below. I am still using 7.3.7.2 for this test. A separate document with the preview removed manually is shown called "Document without Preview.odt". This is to show the difference between with a preview and without a preview. Test process part A (before settings change): 1. create a new file 2. check for Save Preview Image with this document 3. Go to the file location in Thunar and observe the preview 4. Check the Start Centre for the preview. Test process part B (historical files): 1. Find a file created before the bug report. 2. Observe and capture previews 3. Go to Start Centre > Tools > Options > Advanced > Open Expert Configuration > Search for Thumbnail 4. Disable "Show only modified preferences" (Not found) 5. From Preference Name "StartCenter", double click on "Document" to turn "GenerateThumbnail" to "false" 6. press OK and OK. Test process part C (after settings change): 1. create a new file 2. check for Save Preview Image with this document 3. Go to the file location in Thunar and observe the preview 4. Check the Start Centre for the preview. Results: Part A shows previews in Thunar as described before. The Start Centre showed previews, too. Part B shows previews of older files before the setting change, and continued to show previews after the setting change. The setting change does not remove existing previews. Part C shows the Thunar file preview does not appear after the setting change. Interestingly, the "Save preview image with this document" is still checked. Thank you for your patience and for finding this setting. I would call this setting as the solution I was looking for.
