The ODF definition ยง17.9: The <style:drop-cap> element specifies if the one or more characters at the start of a paragraph are to be displayed in a larger font and span multiple lines of text. IOW: The drop cap turns a number of lines into one line with a couple of larger letters at the beginning. We indent the text respectively. So ultimately I wonder if TeX (rather the lettrine package https://tex64.com/learn/text-formatting/dropcaps) is correct. OTOH I this design is considered here https://speakipedia.com/book-design-part-6/ Anyway, my take is WF because compatibility with documents created in the past and with MS Word.
