I can only understand LibreOffice was applying Liberation for most lines and suddenly applied DejaVu for the 'problematic' line; forcing the substitution of Liberation by Noto that 'problematic' line came to normal with DejaVu in those characters and forcing the substitution of DejaVu by Noto made those characters all 'tofu'. # U+2258 = ≘ $ fc-list -f '%{family} | %{style} | %{file}\n' ':charset=2258' | grep noto 43:Noto Sans Math | Regular | /usr/share/fonts/truetype/noto/NotoSansMath-Regular.ttf Noto Sans Math is available in a default Ubuntu setting.
