(<F7) dialog and with the 'Automatic Spell Checking' toggle that displays the "squiggle" annotation under the misspellings. The color could be set to Automatic, rather than its default 'Red', and allow the color to respond to canvas background with a contrasting color. But our norm and tradition is for fixed colors for canvas annotations. Alternative might be to split the "squiggle" color for the on page rendering from the color used for the misspellings in the dialog. Another alternative might be to make the "squiggle" more intrusive, increase the line weight or even turn it into a "highlight" (but color/contrast issues with that). So some change is possible, but I really don't see much need.
