--- Comment #2 from [email protected] --- Thank you for your response. I would like to clarify an important detail: **this problem is NOT specific to laptop touchpads.** I have now confirmed that exactly the same issue also occurs on a separate Windows PC using a conventional mouse. When I click and hold the left mouse button and drag to select text in LibreOffice Writer, the selection is extremely slow and laggy from the very beginning of the drag, even before reaching the edge of the screen. Additional observations: - The problem occurs with both a laptop touchpad and a conventional mouse on a separate PC. - It occurs with both DOC and ODT documents. - It also occurs in LibreOffice Safe Mode. - Changing Skia and hardware acceleration settings does not resolve it. - Normal scrolling is working correctly now. The problem is specifically with selecting text by dragging. - The same selection operation works smoothly in Microsoft Word. Therefore, I don't believe this issue is related to incomplete Microsoft Precision Touchpad support. Using Shift + Arrow keys is a workaround, but it does not address the underlying problem with standard mouse-based text selection. **Could this please be investigated as a general text-selection performance issue in Writer on Windows, rather than a touchpad-specific limitation?** Thank you. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
