Priority: medium
Bug ID: 70850
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: EDITING - Limited character set using MySql(JDBC)
Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.1.1.2 release
Component: Database
Product: LibreOffice
In one of my databases I have been using ♯ and ♭ (sharp and flat). Using BASE
with Mysql(Native) this works fine for new and existing data.
With Mysql(JDBC) the characters can't be interpreted in new data fields and are
replaced by '?'. In existing fields containing the characters they are
displayed correctly.
Is there some limitation on the character set in JDBC? These two characters
are 266F and 266D.
I am not sure if this problem exists in older versions of LO. I have been
using the Native connector for most of the time, more recently with the Ubuntu
PPA for LO 4.1.
