Priority: medium
Bug ID: 83069
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: FILEOPEN: Comma Separated Value File Fails to open
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA PossibleRegression
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.3.0.4 release
Component: Spreadsheet
Product: LibreOffice
Problem description:
LO can create Text CSV (.csv) files correctly but has lost the ability to open
such files; "Text CSV (.cvs)" is no longer is the list of file types which can
be opened.
Clicking (Double clicking) on the file name on the windows desktop (Context
menu) brings up LO Calc but attempts to import as a text file and is incorrect.
Drag and drop of a cvs file crashes LO and produces a following "recovery" loop
Steps to reproduce:
1. Click on a .csv file in a windows folder
or
2. Start Calc, click on OPEN, select the .csv file and attempt to change the
file type to "Text CSV (.csv)" ... this file type does not appear in the file
type list.
or
3.Open Calc and drag and drop a .csv file. Crashes LO
Current behavior:
Unable to open .csv file as file type, "Text CSV (.csv) is not in the file-type
list.
Expected behavior:
Drag and drop, double click on .csv file or OPEN with file type = "Text CSV
(.csv) should open a csv file just as 4.5.2 and earlier versions did.
Operating System: Windows (other)
Version: 4.3.0.4 release
Last worked in: 4.2.6.2 release
