OK, so something Stuart didn't mention in his original report was that he is
using Mac OSX 10.10.5, but fortunately this information is visible in the
Activity Monitor Report.
My guess is that this is yet another one of a few problems already known to
affect LO usage on OSX 10.10.5 (and possibly older). It is unlikely that these
will be corrected, unless by accident.
