I read this as another issue than original reported - you mean that duplicates
of words added to dictionary are not automatically recognized. Switching
AutoSpellcheck off and on will recognize the duplicates. Right? I can confirm
that.

Tools>Options>Language Settings>Writing Aids>User-defined dictionaries>Edit
