change their opinion based purely on discussion, after this much

For sure, yes. And as a sign of good will - I volunteer to help with that. Just
point me at where you want the change to happen, and I'll either suggest a
rephrasing/expansion; or if you like, I can review something written by others.
(of course the documentation will need to change again after this feature is
implemented.)
