Opening an existing Base database is OK. Same for Writer and Draw. Those things also work when opening by file association. I tried to open another existing spreadsheet and got an error with the option to open in Safe Mode. I chose that but nothing happened. Using System Monitor I could see no obvious LO-related processes running. I restarted LO again and tried to create a new Calc sheet. Nothing! Then I restarted LO again and opened another existing Writer file in normal mode.. I closed that.
