I'm sorry if I was harsh. I didn't, at first, realize that there was a real
person involved, who was just trying to do the right thing, something useful.
The "Ken Akiba" signature in your message was in a section that, I thought,
was just being quoted from somewhere else. Read it wrong.

From what you say it sounds like that address is just not working very well.

I am not enthused about www.mail-archive.com, because that service does not
obfuscate our e-mail addresses in any way. Mail-archive.com is a well-known
site: if we keep an archive there then it will be a simple matter for a
spammer to come along and harvest all of our addresses.
A few months ago I set out to build a new site that would be the Internet
equal of mail-archive.com, only with the e-mail addresses properly hidden.
But unfortunately I haven't gotten that done yet.

I understand now. I'm a little surprised that the eGroups computer was
willing to add addresses to a list without first sending out a request for
confirmation. Not your fault; it should have done it automatically.
