After that I also tried subscribing with several different addresses.
It worked every time. It even worked for one address for which it did not work 
before this, different from [EMAIL PROTECTED] which Dan re-activated.
However, when it does not work, there is no error message sent.

Actually eGroups.com hides email addresses when viewed by a guest.
It shows them when viewed by a member.
The previous archives of this mailing list did not hide email addresses:

I wonder if we could somehow use eGroups.com as an archive?
