Do it before while you're in your current version of windows.

Unless your PCMCIA CD-ROM is one of those special one that comes with
special PCMCIA DOS driver, you will have to locate a DOS PCMCIA card service
(you may have to buy it if you can still find it) and you also need DOS
driver for your CD-ROM drive. Good luck.
