The cheapest I have found the Diamond HomeFree combo pack
(www.shopper.com) is $123 for a desktop card and a pcmcia card.
An aviator combo pack is $142 for 2ea pcmcia cards and 2ea dektop pcmcia
adapters.
I used to use IBM Wireless LAN Entry adapters rated at 350kbps and
figured that they would be fine for me because my ADSL is 384/128 kbps.
I found that when I wanted to print or transfer a file locally, it was
excruciatingly slow.
I find that the aviators are noticeably slower that 10bT, but tolerable.
I would find 1/2 that speed to be intolerable.
