Subject: L50: Trouble with 6GB drive. BIOS-related?
I just put a new 6GB Toshiba drive (MK6412MAT) in my L50 (BIOS 6.50). 4GB FAT32
partition followed by a 2GB FAT16 partition. When checking drive C for errors,
Scandisk gets to 85% of the 4GB partition and then slows to a crawl. Anyone else
experienced this? While it's crawling the HD busy light barely moves. It may go a
minute or more without registering any activity.
It even did this (still at 85%) when I had a 6GB FAT32 partition on this drive.
Any clues?
